I’ve been really busy the past couple of weeks and have found that it’s rather challenging to keep up with the articles that I want to publish per week. Nonetheless, I push forward every day to fit in as much as I can, and I continue to take the necessary steps towards my goals.
I hope that those of you following along are also having busy but enjoyable summers. I hope that you’re staying motivated!
I’m interested in hearing about your adventures, particularly where your fitness has had a role. Have you adventured anywhere beautiful, challenging, or both? Do you have anything on your agenda? We’re only half way through summer, so there’s still plenty of time!
I’ll go first and catch you up with everything that is going on in my world.
Yoga Teacher Training
I just finished my fifth week of my 200 hour yoga teacher training, and still have three weeks to go.
Feel free to check out my previous posts on this subject:
This has been such a big part of my life this summer, and I’m really excited about the experience. The impact of the teacher training on my classes at Fulcrum Fitness have been instantly recognizable. I’ll continue to dedicate a few more blog posts to that subject as the remaining weeks play themselves out.
On average, I’m dedicating about 14 hours per week towards class time, and practice time. As part of the certification process, we’re required to put in 40 hours of practice at the CorePower studios. Add the 35 minute round trip driving time to the studios, and I’m putting in around 18.5 hours per week towards my yoga teacher training. Clearly, this is the main reason that I feel that I’m struggling to stay up with my usual editorial schedule on JohnnyFit.
I’ve never done so much yoga within this time frame in my entire life. I might already be exceptionally fit, but my body is starting to feel exhausted from the rigorous tempo. In addition to the yoga, training people is actually tiring too. Throw in a couple of resistance and kettlebell workouts per week, and I’m feeling wiped!
When I complete this certification, I intend to take an entire week (maybe two) off from all physical training. Even fitness people need a break from fitness from time to time!
I need to get out into some nature and relax!
Personal Training & Bootcamps
The number of clients that I’m training on a continual basis is still rising. I’ve had the good fortune of coming across new clients that have varying times they are able to train. This has allowed me to stack my schedule pretty tightly, without having to refer anyone to other trainers. Business is good, and my clients are enjoying their results!
I even took the time to update my Training Site. I’m really proud of it. It looks damn fine and professional! Just taking a look at that website makes me want to train myself! 🙂
My bootcamps and yoga classes continue to be popular despite summer and the downswing of business that many fitness studios have during the nicer months of the year. If you’re in the area, stop on by for an intense dose of whoop ass!
Last week, I officially opened my new website Fitness Money. I’m taking all of the skills that I’ve learned from developing my own website and providing those services to other fitness professionals. Through Fitness Money I set up professional looking WordPress websites, with premium themes, domain name, and hosting for other fitness professionals.
I’ve already secured my first client, which is a crucial step for any new business!
The setup is fast, and the support is unlimited. There are no contracts, and you can have your professional website up and running for as little as $19 per month.
If you’re a fitness professional who needs a quality website, then let me save you the hundreds of hours that I spent in learning how to do this myself. That way, you’ll be able to spend more of your time getting and training clients!
Well that’s me in a nutshell. You can see that I have a lot going on. I’m not complaining though – I enjoy being really busy. I’m in my element, and life is good!
In the meantime, I’m continuing to work behind the scenes on some eBooks I’m developing and hope that those projects will come to fruition over the next few months. I’m continuing my work to be a better trainer, blogger, and fitness businessman.
Hopefully, I’ve contributed in some small way to your own motivation and drive to live a fitter and more fulfilling life.
