In my quest to make my own blog great, I’m always on the lookout for other blogs that interest me in some way. I like to study them and try to figure out what they’re doing right and try to understand what they’re doing to get so much traffic. Every now and then I find a real gem!
If you’re looking for a website that is practical, useful, and entertaining then look no further than The Art of Manliness. This blog seems to be doing phenomenally well, and I would love for some of it to wear off on me. Not only is the subject matter brilliant but the overall design is rather striking!
I don’t exactly recall how I initially came across this site, but it didn’t take long for me to subscribe to it, and I’ve been following it ever since. The articles deliver practical advice for men and delivers in a nice story-like flow. I believe women can find value in the site as well as I’ve forwarded quite a few of the articles to my girlfriend and she seemed to enjoy them. Perhaps the author has a female’s touch that helps him in this regard. The bio of the site indicates as much:
“The Art of Manliness is authored by husband and wife team, Brett and Kate McKay. It features articles on helping men be better husbands, better fathers, and better men. In our search to uncover the lost art of manliness, we’ll look to the past to find examples of manliness in action. We’ll analyze the lives of great men who knew what it meant to “man up” and hopefully learn from them. And we’ll talk about the skills, manners, and principles that every man should know. Since beginning in January 2008, The Art of Manliness has already gained 90,000+ subscribers and continues to grow each week.”
They are currently running an Art of Manliness pose contest, and I figured that this would be the perfect time to write about them as a Website I Love and enter my submission.
The Deadline to submit is Wednesday, August 10, 2011 by 11:59:59 PM CDT. You can find the rest of the details HERE.
If you happen to stumble upon this post well after this date, I still highly encourage you to check out the site!
I’ve decided to add a touch of humor to my submission in the hopes of standing out!
