Sports, athletic activities, and going to the gym can be pretty rough on your clothes. Let’s face it, after working hard and playing hard, your clothes will smell pretty bad, have a lingering pungent odor, and probably be covered in grime.
I recently had the opportunity to try out a new product called Vapor Fresh, that specializes in getting the smell and grime out of your sportswear.
Raw Athletics, the company behind Vapor Fresh, asked me to try out their product. I was happy to oblige. Due to my bootcamps, personal training, yoga classes, and generally running around, hiking, and getting dirty, I have plenty of dirty clothes that could use a good product to clean them and get them ready for the next adventure.
Clothes Washing Basics
One of the best things that I liked about this product is that it has no scent. I don’t particularly like smelling like spring rain or flowers. A non-scented detergent is a good thing in my opinion.
Additionally, Vapor Fresh does not have any phosphate or chlorine.
The detergent is formulated for use in cold water. Since I tend to do all of my laundry in cold water anyway, that’s preferable. I don’t know if it’s a guy thing or not, but I never separate my clothes, and I wash everything in cold. Washing in cold water also saves money.
The Dirty Clothes
I did three loads of laundry before writing this review.
The first load had an added surprise…
This is kind of gross, but apparently, the people who lived in my apartment before me had some cats that ran wild in one of the rooms. To say the least, let’s just say that those cats really left their mark in the room that I use for my office, which also contains my closet and clothes hamper.
Well, if I forget to close my closet door, my own cat takes it upon himself to try and outscent the prior cats. Yeah, he did it right in my laundry basket. Cat pee has a very pungent odor that can be difficult to remove.
Don’t worry; I forgave him because he’s cute!
Vapor Fresh easily removed the cat pee odor from my clothes after just one wash.
The next load wasn’t quite as dramatic. In went some ordinarily dirtied clothes from regular use, plus some with some bootcamp and gym sweat on them. The outcome was the same. Clean, unscented clothes.
For my third test, I decided to really put Vapor Fresh to the test. I took an old plain white t-shirt of mine, threw it onto some wet, soggy dirt, and walked around on it. As you can see from the photos, I got the shirt thoroughly dirty!
I was completely prepared to scrap the idea of using these photos or talking about this third test. After all, I thought it would be unfair to hold this product up to an unrealistic test. However, much to my surprise, after two washes, Vapor Fresh removed all of the dirt and grime from my extra soiled t-shirt.
The Clean Truth
The truth is that Vapor Fresh works. It removed the smell and grime from my clothes.
The detergent is currently only in powdered form. I usually don’t use powders, and can’t even remember the last time I used one. Vapor Fresh did completely dissolve in water though, and didn’t leave any of the residue that you sometimes get with powders.
Also, I believe Vapor Fresh Sports Laundry Detergent is currently only available through Amazon. I tend to get my laundry detergent at the grocery or department store when I’m picking up other things, but I do order from Amazon quite frequently. It is a reliable place to shop online.
My readers can order a container that does 40 loads of sports laundry, and receive 40% off their order by using the coupon code: JFIT1717.
Order quickly because that code expires on April 6.
This is a paid product review, but my opinion is real and genuine!
