JohnnyFit Bootcamp and Yoga

It’s been three weeks since the last time I posted here on JohnnyFit, which is the longest I’ve gone without posting in the two years of this blog. The reason for my absence is that I’ve been preoccupied with opening my training studio – JohnnyFit Bootcamp & Yoga.

Opening my own studio has always been in my plans; I wrote about it awhile back when I talked about my 5 year plan. However, recently I fell into a unique opportunity that I couldn’t pass up, and here I am with my training studio two years sooner than I anticipated.

This turn of events all started about a month ago when Fulcrum Fitness, the studio that I’ve been training with for the past year and a half, was evicted from their space for failure to pay their rent. That came as a sudden surprise to the training staff and members, and is quite the story that I plan to tell soon in another blog post.

What transpired next was something truly amazing. Over 65 members of the Fulcrum Fitness location emailed me to say that they wished to continue training with me. Here I was, a trainer with at least 65 dedicated clients and no place to train out of. I contacted the property broker and arranged a new lease for the space that Fulcrum got evicted from. In just 3 week’s time, I was able to reopen the doors and now I’m off to a running start with plenty of clients.

Since I haven’t had the time to hire anyone to help me yet, I’m currently running all of the classes myself. I had to equip the space, give it a new paint job, order a new sign and flooring, and build the website. As you can see, I have had no time to blog about this.

This is what’s going on with me. I’m currently interviewing people for my staff and will be back to posting regular blogs real soon. In the meantime, if you have any friends in Portland, send them over to http://johnnyfit.org/ for some fun and intense bootcamp workouts and yoga classes.

Talk to you soon!
